Hi, I’m Jody Greifenberger, owner of Humber River Dogs. I want to help you build a better relationship with your dog, to create that special bond based on trust and respect. I believe a positive, force free approach is the only way to get there. If my dog Lily could talk, with words, I think she would thank me for going back to dog school so that I could help her cope in this crazy world we live in. Actually, she might say it was about time, since she was sending clear signals all along. If we look at life from your dog’s perspective and read your dog’s body language, everything is a clearer.
Do you need help with a new puppy or newly adopted dog joining your family? Do you want to better understand your dog and change her disruptive behaviours? Is she lacking in foundation skills, eg. impulse control, settle on mat? I’ll come to you, create a customized training and/or behaviour plan unique to the needs of your dog and your family.
My path is winding, like the Humber: professional engineer, environmental specialist, management consultant, school volunteer and fundraiser, and mother of three. Sue McMullen’s Certified Dog Trainer Program at Canine Academy in Campbellville, Ontario gave me the foundation I needed. My weekly volunteer work at the Etobicoke Humane Society has allowed me to work with a great number of dogs in an uplifting environment where we are giving these dogs that pass through the doors a second chance in life. The world is rich with learning and I am a continuous learner so I can provide you with the most up to date, science based methods and research in the areas of dog behaviour, animal learning, canine health and nutrition.
